All snowboarding soreness aside, I wanted nothing more than to get out on my mountain bike today and ride my favorite trail in Lyons. Here's a view from the top of the climb-- you can barely see Rocky Mountain National Park in the distance.

Parked Toto at this adorable little cabin/RV resort, just 10 minutes from Breckenridge. Our site was at the edge of a creek, right above a beaver's den. Saw the furry little guy swim across the water a few times-- thankful Suki decided not to jump in after him.

I have no idea what happend to Nov. 22! Blaming it on the concussion. My head's looking remarkably better than it did on Saturday night, but now I'm starting to get a black eye. Hope people don't get the wrong idea about my husband!

I COULD have posted a picture of brunch with our friends, Scott and Rhiannon. Or the bar where we drank Bloody Marys afterwards. Or the bike ride back to our house, when I caught my front wheel on uneven pavement and went down so hard that I craked my helmet and gave myself a grade-two concussion. Or the party afterwards-- our first house party, mind you-- that I have no memory of. (I blame that on the fall, not the party.)

But no, I was camera-less for most of those moments. Luckily I caught a few minutes of my favorite movie of all time on TV that morning, before my swift downward spiral.

Big night tonight at Avery, where 60 of the brewery's biggest fans came together for a special dinner honoring ten years of "The Reverend"-- a beer the owner created in 2000 to honor his late grandfather. Big thanks to Andrea and Lucas, our rock-star neighbors (pictured here but hard to see), for introducing us to the fabulous world of Boulder beer!

Another fabulous hike up Skunk Canyon. This time I explored a rock outcropping just off the trail, and loved how the valley below just barely peaked through the trees.
